2. General Notes and Mandatory Information

Data Protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

Note on the Responsible Body (Controller)

The responsible body for data processing on this website is:

Maik Zimmerschied

Haupstr. 59

54634 Bitburg

Germany

Email: [email protected]

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g., names, email addresses, etc.).

Storage Duration

Unless a more specific storage period has been specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted, unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g., tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, the deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.

3. Data Collection on this Website

Hosting

We host the content of our website with the following provider:

Hetzner Online GmbH

Industriestr. 25

91710 Gunzenhausen

Germany

When you visit our website, certain log files (server log files) are automatically collected and stored by the provider. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address (stored in an anonymized/shortened form)

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of their website—for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Data Processing Agreement: We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that they process the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

4. Analytics and Tools

Umami Cloud (Web Analytics)

This website uses “Umami Cloud”, a web analytics service provided by Umami Software, Inc. (USA), operating in the EU Server Region.

Umami allows us to analyze the use of our website without using cookies or storing personal data that could identify you.

Type of Data Processed: The following data is collected and immediately anonymized:

  • Page viewed (URL)
  • Referrer (previously visited page)
  • Device type (e.g., mobile, desktop), browser, and operating system
  • Screen resolution
  • Language settings
  • Country/Region (roughly determined from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored permanently but is only processed briefly for session recognition and hashed).

Server Location & Data Transfer: We use the EU Server Region of Umami Cloud. The data is therefore stored on servers within the European Union (usually Estonia or Germany). However, the provider (Umami Software, Inc.) is a US company. Theoretical access by US authorities under US law cannot be completely ruled out, but the risk is low due to data anonymization. We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with the provider.

Legal Basis: The processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior to improve the website. Since no cookies are used and no clear personal data is stored, explicit consent (Consent Banner) is not required.

Opt-Out: If you do not want your visits to be recorded, you can activate the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser (if supported) or use common ad-blockers/script-blockers.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future. You also have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

For this purpose and for further questions regarding data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the Legal Notice (Impressum).
